This is democracy in action, chud! After all, the healthiest democracies put potential political challengers in prison.

Yeah, that's kinda what rubs me the wrong way. On one hand, I get the idea of no one being above the law. On the other hand, Letitia James isn't really an impartial prosecutor on this issue, clearly has special interests in play, doesn't seem to be really interested in doing the right thing.

I remember when she threatened to prosecute Cuomo, not that I like the guy, but there was very little evidence and just more noise. He steps down, then she tries to run for governor before Hochul pulled the breaks on that one.

So I just see a pattern of bias here and it makes me think. Like I'm not in the room, but somehow I doubt the judge would throw out the case. He seems like a "greater good for democracy" guy, and that in turn makes me think that he's a dumbass.

The problem is the "victims" are literally defending Trump, they don't believe he did anything wrong. If the party supposedly wrong doesn't see it that way, what case do you have?

Edit: oops sorry, I mean:

This is how democracy works, chud! Only BIPOCs are above the law, after all the law was created by bigots to keep them oppressed.

Yeah I mean, I did notice that, and at that point I was looking to see the case dismissed, but I never did. I think from the state's POV it's more of a "fraud occurred even though there's not solid damages" which I think is super loosey goosey. Republican democracy looks less and less functional as judicial procedure is increasingly politicized.
