You realize a giant portion of many industries scaled back during COVID and and moved full time workers to part time so they could collect that $600 a week unemployment stimulus. Does your wages chart factor that in?

It's true that there is a larger pool of "discouraged" workers who aren't counted in the U-3 headline number, but that's always the case, and even if you look at those other numbers, they're improving too.
Put another way, it's not the case that the "official" unemployment figure is only declining because people are giving up looking for work.
