Why the losers :marseyl: of the 2024 election :marseyupvote2:will probably blame Georgia :marseybulldogsgeorgiamascot:again

Looking past why voting machines are generally a bad idea anyway

Georgia voting machines have been known to be vulnerable to hacking since 2018

and they still havent fixed them

bc of that prominent people on both sides of the isle are skeptical of the results

Whats going on there? Are the elections people to busy drinking moonshine and driving fast through the woods to hire decent cybersecurity people? Georgia on it's way to frick up the 2024 election:

P.S. I am not implying that there is anything wrong with Dominion voting machines.

Back in the old days that you kids would never understand, when Slashdot was the place where all the dorks congregated on the internet (circa 1998 ) , we were already having this conversation. Voting machines were never a good idea. We thought so 30 years ago. They are "solving" a nonexistent problem. No one in history has had trouble counting votes. Voting machines should be illegal.

You're too young too remember Florida when courts had too rule how much of a hanging chad counted as a vote. Or Minnesota where you had too figure out how much of a mark in a bubble really counted.

Most states (not enough) use two machines: the first creates an unambiguous paper ballot, and then it's put into a second machine that reads that ballot and adds up the vote tallies. You can open the machine too count the physical ballots by hand, which they do they there is a dispute, and also too a few random wards too make sure the numbers came out right.
