I remember when these S-300s caused a big crisis in the mid 1990s
. They were very capable missiles and the Greeks were putting them on Aegean islands where they could dominate the sea and even coastal Anatolia. There must be been some compromise to settle it eventually.
So these were top of the line Russian SAM tech in the '90s, probably still pretty effective today.
