Reminds me of an old polish joke.

A jewish woman is sleeping next to her jewish husband during ww2. He starts laughing in his sleep. She wakes him up and asks him "what's wrong."

He responds "they were beating me, writing anti-jewish slurs on the walls."

He laughs and says "the poles were back in charge."

Or the correct wording was he woke up from a nightmare and told her about it and then said it was great, and she said that sounds horrible, how was it great, and he said because it meant the poles were back in charge, highlighting how brutal the nazis were.

I see poland as a respectable adversary, only a fellow true slav could repurpose mussels to serve your agenda.

It isn't as dysfunctional as people make it out to be either. Compared to most of our east European brothers were doing ok in regards to politics as well. Yes even during PiS rule wether you liked them or not

Today Poland is probably more technologically than some western countries but in Poland there is probably some infrastructure differences between part of the country since you are size of Germany yet having at least 2 times less population.

Twelve to fourteen year olds like arrogant r-slurs that just sit there making deprecating comments in a condescending tone, they think that's cool and "adult".

I think there's some level of self awareness to it, there's a sort of left leaning type that does get off on being a hypocrite living in a mansion. Blatant hypocrisy can be seen as a sign of being powerful or special, not something embarrassing.
