Impeaching a witness means catching a them in a lie or something to call into question their credibility. The specific lie was about whether or not certain things were attorney client privilege. This potentially blows the door open to revoking his privilege claims on his knowledge around Wade/Willis's relationship. Something the state does not want to happen but they went and did this for some reason. My guess is they were expecting him to testify to the relationship, so had this prepared, but just kept following the script when he didn't.

This is amazing and also crazy. If he wasn't going to spill the beans before, he's certainly going to do so now. Are they really this incompetent? I mean, that only strengthens the allegation that she appointed the guy because he was her honey, not because he was any good as a lawyer. If they managed to screw this up, what else have they screwed up?

He was already going to have the private conversation with the judge on the privilege question. So maybe they were attempting to head that off. But at least the judge was giving him the benefit of the doubt before. Now the judge is on the record seriously questioning whether the privilege was proper or not. Bradley was also COMPLETELY blindsided by this. He was a witness for the defense, but he was not on their side. Look at his expression from 5:10 onward. That's a man who feels betrayed and confused. Like you said he's definitely going to spill everything now. This is a disaster and I'm really upset I can't find anywhere else where it's posted.

This was the only clip I could find of the cross. Not sure why. It would be bizarre for the state to attack him like this if he didn't have damaging information. He's going to sit with the judge in private now and review everything. If he was lying about privilege, and has personal information that they started a relationship before Nov. 2021, which seems likely given the state's hostility, that's now (3) lawyers losing their career.
