Lol, I'm against these young r-slurs who won't touch grass, and I had a christcuck insane mom with crazy grass touching rules designed to make grass touching as awful as possible that I managed to out maneuver a lot, but schools were hardcore about being off school property off hours where I was. Cops would usually keep schools in their routes, and you'd somehow get them called on you pretty easily there.

Wow really? That's just genuinely unimaginable in my area. For example we have tracks, tennis courts and whatnot at the high schools that stay open to the public off hours

I'd say there were a lot of public parks, that included tennis courts, so it should have evened out.
But I'll also say, when I was older I heard they had cracked down a lot harder on park closing hours. But also, that had to do with an influx of rowdies.
I would have much more sympathy for these kids whining on the NL thread if they didn't sound like giant kitties who didn't want to go out anyway.

I went to school in the suburbs on the outskirts of a midwestern city. The only way I would go into the city was by car, there is absolutely no way I would be walking around there at any time of day. It's one of the reasons why I don't really understand the citycel lifestyle.
Also, our school didn't have playgrounds because we all lived close enough to walk/bike to it.

Tbh I'd hate to give them credit, but I grew up in suburban sprawl and there's def truth to that. Subdivisions are separated by 45 mph roads that no one wants their kids biking on, especially at night, so it does get pretty isolating before you can legally drive. Kids between 13-15 do need a bit of independence instead of always having to ask their parents to drive them somewhere. Helicopter parenting is what's led to millenials and gen z being a bunch of redditors.
And they aren't even wrong about social spaces. We'd get in trouble loitering in parking lots because there was literally no where else we could hang out. I think this redditoids point is the opposite, kids need to touch grass more but there's barely anywhere for them to do that.
Then, even when you get a license and can drive, you have a fricking cellphone for your parents to call and text you on. It's generations treated like toddlers growing up, then when they turn 18 we act surprised that they're a bunch of r-slurs
Their whole lives are scheduled by their parents like theyre still a toddler, when they should be riding their bikes out the door while their parents yell "dinners at 7!"

The book Coddling of the American Mind talks about this. At some point in the mid 90's - early 00's, when the X'ers had kids, they went hard in exchanging freedom for safety. That's why the zoomers are all fricked up. Most of my friends grew up as latch key suburban kids so we rode around on bikes. I grew up in the country and did things that redditor would call the police about. All my mom cared about was that no one was dead.
