The New York Times Pitchbot, an account that attempts to parody Times story conceits and headlines with questionable success, has nonetheless gained a large following among Biden aides in the White House and online liberals who have grown increasingly frustrated with the Times.

As his campaign for reelection flailed, Biden allies inside the White House stoked the idea that news outlets, chiefly the Times and the Washington Post, were limiting the president's appeal by focusing overwhelmingly on negative stories about him.
