Elected Dems were grousing that people were melting their phone lines with angry calls. They were overjoyed when he was ousted; a flood of small-dollar donations and volunteers arrived the instant he was displaced. Random California businesses put up signs praising him for fricking off. Even the enthusiasm for Kamala only made sense in the context of ousting Biden, as on her own she is a giga-wokeoid with a terrible reputation.
