This is good for democracy Democracy is when we do it

It's interesting to see the West just mask off about democracy. It was only a democracy as long as you were only able to vote for two similar, neo-liberal adjacent candidates that are pliable enough to get them to do what the establishment wants, when they want it. I've always wondered what's the difference between the EU and Russia aside from just quality of life. Like, yes Russia is visibly less prosperous, but you still get beaten to a pulp by the same goons, your leadership is still corrupt, you can't say political things that have been determined illegal. So in that sense the EU is preferable because of wealth, but frankly I wouldn't be shocked if this is followed by some sort of crackdown on protests, codification of further illegal speech etc.
