It appears to have been much more a crowd of normal people than the "punk rock" zoomers and aging hippies looking for fights who populated these protests in Trump's first term. In a shithole like Portland it's easy forget that the majority of the population actually aren't weirdo redditors. Of course we do still have a few of those too:

I think you're right.
The main sign in that picture could certainly mislead one into thinking that Portlanders embrace Trump and Putin's unconventional but completely valid love.
But then you catch sight of those 'hands off' signs in the background and it becomes clear that Portlanders really are hateful bigots who will never accept a McDonalds-gobbling commoner like Trump, rich tho he might be, sullying Putin's correct and proper, upper middle-class bussy.
