Why is enrollment in Eugene's public school system declining? : Eugene

In some sense, it's freeing that all public schools, even the ones in 80+% white areas, are going to shit.

In the recent past you'd have to do this complex calculation in your head of "Do I buy this home from 1975 for $400k in the good school district, or a similar home from 1990 for $290k in a worse one? Hmm my child is only 3 so it won't matter just yet, but the interest rates seem fairly low now so maybe I should lock in the 400k home, oh and also the good school district has gone from 89% white to 74% white in the last 10 years, which direction is that headed? And the teachers seem a bit woke there…"

If you accept that all public schools have taken a nosedive and send your kids private or charter or Catholic, then you can simplify your real estate hunting and not have to do multi variable racial calculus.
