The article doesn't say that India is exempt from tariffs, though...? The whole thing is about the US trying to get India to eliminate the tariffs they have on our cars.
It'd be crazy if Indians bought Teslas. American-sized cars on streets full of tuktuks and mopeds will kill more jeets than trains do now. Nobody stays in their lanes there.
