My husband and I were telling our daughter about Bush jr (we call him Shrub). Yes he was a republican and he did a lot of stupid and bad things and made terrible gaffes and basically committed war crimes and now tries to paint the guilt away, but he was a jovial guy who wanted to be liked, didn't criminalize his political opponents, and also didn't try to take over government, which is a huge point in his favor, in hindsight. We told her about how he dissed Trump at Carter's funeral and she was low key impressed with the shade. Still hate the guy but I'd take him over Trump.

I do not get this logic at all.

They are mad at Trump for cutting the VA because the VA helps disabled vets, but not as mad at the guy that created disabled vets.

They are mad at Trump for infringing on the freedom of speech yet they aren't still mad at Bush over the Patriot Act.

They are mad at Trump for not supporting a war in Ukraine yet Bush got the US in two completely unnecessary wars that lasted an entire generation, but hey rich kids weren't drafted so that's ok.
