The collection of cans and pizza boxes is still going strong.

Context: this is someone who got ahold of me when i was calling suicide hotline 4 times a day, just to talk with someone that i fely would listen to my silly little problems.

I eventually got them to come over becUse they offered my cats food and snacks, at the time i actually had no wetfood for them. So it was a W. He came 0ver with police and we talked for a bit, and then i told him one morning

Him:please dont talk that way with me, i do not like that. (Something along rhe lines of that, ar least)

And i havent heard or tiewd to get a hold of them since.

They arent the one that got away, theyre obviously someone who was genuinely disgusted, disappointed and disinterested.

Steppe people conquering sedentary people is a repeated theme. Bronze Age civilization was fairly well developed in the origins, materially even places like Balkans were surprisingly prosperous pre IE invasions so likely ratio of invader to original inhabitant wasn't very different from later steppe conquerors, Huns or Mongols or Turks. So typical model here is I think r*pe after war, maybe wife capture. But children usually learn language from their mother, definitely for a steppe warrior lol. And this was all back before writing or anything so it wasn't like they could easily teach the majorities in the lands they inhabited now their languages in an organized manner. So they'd likely have to learn local languages, keep using the IE language among their(elite) class and then gradually followers try to mimick them to win political favour till it reaches tipping point and learning the language becomes easy? Only, with a pre industrial economy I can't imagine even someone with state authority having that much patronage to offer, to get the population at large to switch languages. And even if it did, the logistics of the whole process is insane. Compare with English for example, it was similarly disseminated by elites but from an organized modern schooling structure, native elite kept it to serve as a lingua franca so even now its the language of power and prestige here but I'd say maybe 1-2% are fluent in it? I definitely cannot imagine any future where English becomes the only language we speak, at least in the country I know. And if you look at westoid fetishizing races( ) these people changed their whole soycieties to fit mayo mould, including fashion, Meiji era Jap ministers were basically 4/pol/ tier white nationalists BUT not the language. Its insanely complicated to change a language, I think in all of recorded history only the Jews have managed it. Arabs did it too but over a longer time period and Arabic was already a popular language in those regions, it just extinguished Greek and the other languages. Same goes for a lot of other national languages I suppose, French etc were all initially spoken by a part of the country and later imposed on the rest.

Matt Damon's Story About Rescuing a Cat in Costa Rica Is a Total Gem

This is the luckiest cat ever!

Matt Damon has a cat who be adopted from Costa Rica and he recently shared a little about the cat's journey in life.

On a recent episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Matt spoke about his cat, sharing a very interesting story. Take a look!

(@ colbertlateshow[space after@ only here, there is no spacewhen searching), Matt explained how his rescue cat from Costa Rica came to live with him and the health scare he faced when he arrived in the US.

Matt shared that he spent a month in Costa Rica where he met a stray cat who would come by and he would feed him.

When the time came for him to leave the country and head back to the United States, they knew that the cat had to come back with him.

"We had to take the cat. We were like, this guy's gonna die now. He's relying on us," Matt shared. "He moves into our house. I think he's had a little yard in LA, but he'll be great out there."

But that's not what happened. The cat "never went outside ever again."

Matt Damon's Cat Had a Brain Tumor

Unfortunately, not long after the cat came home, he was diagnosed with brain cancer. The cat underwent radiation to try and lessen his symptoms, and Matt was sure he would be fine.

The cat appeared OK for a while but a move to New York saw the cat losing a lot of weight and "only walking in left circles."

Matt takes the cat to the animal hospital in New York and meets with a cat neurologist named Chad.

Chad told Matt that he would need to "have this conversation with your children because being a part of pet ownership is giving them their dignity, and this cat doesn't really have a quality of life anymore," Matt explains.

He told the cat neurologist that he would have that conversation and, if there was no improvement, he would bring the cat back in three weeks.

The way Matt tells the story from here is really funny becaue his cat's doctor suggests putting the cat on steroids.

They weren't sure it would work, and the neurologist told Matt they would need to watch out for some long-term issues.

"We can just see what happens," he recalls the doctor saying.

"That was two and a half years ago," Matt shares. Now the cat is "jacked. He's like Arnold Schwarzenegger."

In the comments, people had a lot to say about this cat, and they were funny about it.

"Surely this is an Orange cat," one person insisted.

"Matt Damon always delivers the funniest stories," someone else shared.

But they mainly were upset that they didn't show a picture of Matt's muscle cat.

"Matt Damon, show the --- cat," wrote one viewer.

"Now I want to see a picture of the jungle cat," admitted another.

"MATT WE GOTTA SEE THE CAT!!!" insisted another viewer.

"WHERE CAN I DEMAND A PICTURE OF ARNOLD SWAGGERCAT?" added someone else.

According to Davies Veterinary Specialists, steroids are used as a treatment for some cats who have certain brain tumors.

They explain, "A combination of anti-inflammatory medication (corticosteroids) to reduce the swelling and pressure caused by the tumor and drugs to reduce the severity and frequency of seizures can be prescribed."

Adding, "In some cases, this may relieve many of the symptoms and make the animal feel a lot better."

We're so glad Matt's cat is doing so well now. And we, too, demand a photo, please.
