some of the people in the original 2000s dot com bubble became nouveau riche. now new rich, historically, have a struggle to learn their class, because they're wealthy but they don't really understand what that means yet, and they're entering a new, broader game with a lot more subtle violence and epic deceit. it's a vicious scene and those new to the Bigger Casino often lose and are demoted to Poors again.
of these people, the SFO based tech Rich formed YCombinator, whose online extrusion is known as Orange Site. Paul Graham is first and foremost among the people responsible for Orange Site and its Corruption, one of the engineers who fell to the corruption of his money.
This is the center of the narcissism of California. They brought all of the rich people thinking into the Silicon Valley which ended up stifling innovation. Almost all of the big name popular tech stocks, AirBNB, Uber, Lyft, got their start because their founders got slotted into the Rich People Mania generator of ycombinator.
You don't, for instance, have to make money as a business if you can hallucinate a storyline in which your company spends millions of rich people money to CONQUER THE MARKET and then, you know, crank the prices up because the RICH PEOPLE WANT MOAR MONEY and they don't really care if it's a good business or not. That's just how stupid rich people are, or at least, these nouveau riche.
This is why we're waiting for the true crash, the reality check, the "huh I guess A BUSINESS MUST MAKE MONEY."
Because all of these idiot rich people are going to suffer, and it's going to be funny.
Sam Altman was personally groomed by these nouveau riche into being the next generation of rich people leadership. He's, technically, a bagholder since when the crash happens everyone's going to be pissed and Paul Graham will have been out of operating YCombinator for years at that point. I hope we still find some way to charge Paul Graham for public indecency and fraud, because a fraud has been perpetuated on the American people. (Taking a company public is making the public the bagholder if the company DOESN'T MAKE MONEY.
