I installed Win 10 on a vbox a few months ago and it was using 5-6 gb of ram at idle.

I don't even know how that is possible when Linux runs fine on 2gb of ram for most Desktop Environments even when using Chrome/Firefox with multiple tabs open.

i don't use apt and i have never broke my system on an upgrade.

Caching applications isn't neccesary, no cache on my DE and almost all applications start in a fricking second at most. You prolly got a fricking shit computer.
