This sanctions warfare has shown how idiotic west is. They have made every wrong move.
They weaponised dollar. Fired it at full broad side.
Suprise suprise. Now countries are looking to build alternatives for dollar trade.
They were slow with energy sanctions. Allowing russia to recalibration of their whole energy system. It took them 4 months to redirect everything to asia. It wasnt until 6-7 months in until energy sanctions kicked up in gear.
Oil companies are still playing ball with russia. They are jumping in to russian oil train when ever they can.
And its not like these sanctions didnt work. Head of russian centeal bank said she was holding on thoot and nail to keep thing's from collapsing. But they made it through.
Same time. West did too much and too little. If they hadnt weponised dollar and instead sanctioned oil and gas fully at start. Maybe russian economy most likely would have collapsed like west wanted. And non western countries wouldnt have been so nervous.
Sure lights would have gone out here and there in europe and people would have actually died in europe. But who cares.

US has always used financial sanctions against minor powers like Iran, sanctioning an economy smaller than Italy doesn't affect anything globally.
Especially since the only potential rival (China) will be obviously a lot more aggressive and selfish if it suits them.

Kicking someone off from SWIFT and denying dollar trade isnt same as economic sanctions toward iran.
Real issue with this move. It made dollar less reliable and it wasnt as effective as everyone hoped. Thats why it was stupid.
