What was it loaded with? Firecrackers?

just enough explosives to make a visible boom but not enough to do any real damage, because putin wasn't going to risk his building for this totally real attack. :smoke:

Between FSB shenanigans, disgruntled mobiks going all Gomer Pyle, the Russian airforce doing whoopsies, genuine Ukrainian black ops, and incompetent construction workers, it's sure hard to figure out who's blowing up what nowadays.

i just can't wrap my head around these drones getting that close before being taken out unless it was all part of the plan

It's a bit surprising yes, but it makes no sense for it to be an inside job. The Russian position is that all is fine and everything is going well and our mighty army is bravely holding the line etc. Something like an explosive drone being able to sneak into the capital greatly undermines that image.

It's absolutely ukies that did this, specifically for this reason- to intimidate the public

nothing the russians do/say makes sense, though!

THIS PROVES IT!

But it's not. They're going to have to do another round of mobilization if they want to keep this going. Is it really so far fetched to think they'd do a false flag attack to drum up support. It's literally how Putin got elected in the first place.

This is the most reasonable of the false flag scenarios I think, but it still leaves me with questions- why insinuate it in Moscow? Nobody from Moscow itself will be getting drafted, and as for the citizens outside- they wouldn't care any more or less if it happened somewhere else. So why not make the attack somewhere closer to the border so as to not look like the Russian defences are completely useless? Similarly that would allow to orchestrate something bigger and more threatening than a single tiny drone with few explosives, and it would also make it appear as if it is the fellow countrymen that are being targeted, rather than the president. All of these things would no doubt elicit a stronger reaction from the people

Yes I think it’s extremely unlikely.

The drones found last month outside Moscow were locally produced in Ukraine and the explosives were from a British company, they aren’t off the shelf stuff

Like the others are saying he needs to justify yet another mobilization which most certainly wont make him popular, the bhakmut meatgrinder has been expensive.

There's gotta be any number of unexploded apartment buildings he could use instead tho

It does if they're trying to justify their war, and escalating it. It's vital that the domestic audience there understand that this is totally a defensive war on Russia's part and that's why they should mindlessly support it, and perhaps happily line up for the next round of mobilization.

Putin has needed too mobilize more for months. This gives him optics too. @IdioV2 guess.

This Russian position is that this is a defensive war of survival and America is going to kill them all

We're seeing for a year now how incompetent russia's army is. Why should their Kremlin defense Wunderwaffen be any different?

Sometimes the dude getting beat up isnt "only using 10% of his power", sometimes hes actually a weak loser.

It makes plenty of sense. AA guns were designed for large planes and cruise missiles not 2-3 tiny drones flying by at the same time. Russia would need an automated CRAM type system or manned SHORADS along the flight path. Ukraine might know where those AA guns are and avoid them.

Could be a disgruntled russian civilian with a commercial drone.

Fr this is symbolic at best if it was a real attack.

looks like they might have just been trying to get the flag with that tiny lil boom if it was (and still didn't get it) :marseyshrug:

to be fair, if we are to believe russian reports, they accidentally hit playgrounds and childrens hospitals and apartments all the time when aiming at military targets miles away

this is stunning accuracy by comparison
