If it holds, sure, I could see Ukraine being ready for elections again, but that requires a peace that leads to normalization first.
And if the Ukrainian people think Zelensky is holding on too long, I'll trust they'll let him know, just as they did vs Yanukovych in 2014.
Normalization probably won't come, at least not under Putin who's shown absolutely no willingness to compromise. In case of a lasting ceasefire like Korea, Ukraine should hold elections even without normalization of ties with Russia.

This conflict happened just after Covid. During Covid government lied shit tons, in EU the president bought 9 vaxx per citizens by her husband company by 2022 80% of t was expired and thrown own so basically corruption. So I expected people would trust politician less but nope she comes and says that Ukraine is super democratic and EU will with sanction and support to Ukraine do strategical defeat to Russia. She then dropped multiple bs like Russian stealing chips from dishwashers to build missiles. That sanctions will destroy Russian economy by summer then fall then winter. Hyped price cap. It makes it all more r-slurred that during that time I had macro economics classes so in March we had an European Central Bank representative tilling us how sanctions soon going to destroy Russian economy and there won't be inflation in EU. 7 months later in micro economics class we had task to write paper how to fix inflation. And as kids that studied economics we kinda know that sanctions have a direct effect and not long standing and with price cap we kinda should know that you can't force price cap on seller especially on primary sector. So it's brutal how they are all lying like this and are less accountable than foids.

War in Ukraine is special because it's very media covered and Ukraine is dependent on western gibs. And since Zelenskyy somehow managed convince west that he is going to push Russian out of whole Ukraine including Crimea so he constantly needed some victories to keep convincing the west that he is winning. Now after 2 years Ukraine didn't had any victories, a Trump showed up and says he is closing the bank.
Ukrainian generals most have Soviet mentality when do fully listening to its country leader and trying not to anger the leader by disagreeing with him. Zaluzhnyy was unique in the way that there was public disagreements between him and Zelenskyy.
Putin on other side is not very engaged in this conflict, he barely ever mentioned the battlefield he let Gerasimov and co, do it.

Zelenskyy making an argument, the west believing that argument, and the west giving Zelenskyy what he requested are entirely independent things.
It's pretty simple: giving Ukraine weapons results in Russian casualties. There is no grander narrative the west needs to believe. The west doesn't need to believe Zelenskyy; they just need to believe that military aid to Ukraine does desirable things.
