They don't want it to be hidden, they want people to know while maintaining plausible deniability so they can smear the people who do find out as crackpots and conspiracy whackjobs.

These aren't establishment pedos, they're run-of-the-mill insular religious community pedos. They don't need to run a child trafficking ring in midtown manhattan because there are plenty of children in their own community to molest.
And again, you can't hide something behind 'fake stone' in a bridge in a place like Central Park. It'd be harder than hiding a tunnel at King's Cross station; there are thousands of neurodivergents in the city with a special interest in various aspects of NYC and there is a zero percent chance something like that would escape them. There'd at least be a rumor/urban legend about jewish tunnels if this were remotely plausible.
