I think any sane person annoyed by it just turned the game off because it's the preseason, but these are diehards. After reading these threads I'm on their side though, just because they're less annoying than the scolds.
I'm a trained storm spotter, so maybe I have a different perspective,
but they continue on:
It may save a life. That's more important than a preseason game that is still on.
Some people are illiterate. Probably more than you think. So tickers aren't good enough.
And it is just a game which you watching will not change the outcome of.
But someone finding out there is a tornado might save their life.

This is true. As a kid I saw lightning crack the driveway probably 25 feet from me. I could feel the heat from it. It absolutely ruled.
