The PL is in a dire condition. FFP serves to protect the Big 6, and they've already shown that they'll leave for the European Super League if they're not given preferential treatment. Other teams have to take huge financial risks just to stay competitive, never mind breaking into the top 6.

You have Liverpool and Chelsea who can spend huge amounts of money on speculative players with no consequence even though they haven't qualified for the Champions League. On the other hand look at Newcastle who are trying to do it right but completely burned out by the start of December due to the demands of the CL/PL/League Cup.

I've always been of the opinion that if billionaires want to piss money away to entertain the lower classes then they should be allowed :marseydrum:

It really should just be to prevent you going to debt tbh. If your owner wants to front non-debt money to pay for everything that's fair otherwise no spending for you. The problem is this would obliterate the strategy of Glazer/Kroenke types (and I guess us too now... sigh) but even aside from that it would hammer a lot of the "smaller" time billionaires too and the exact structure to prevent FFP 2.0 would be complicated.
