Meanwhile, Yankee lives in all white enclave with one token black doctor.

Sorta, baseball and football (in some positions) can be out worked vs raw talent.
Obviously you need to be gifted to some degree but no one makes it to the MLB are sheer raw talent like they do the NBA
It happens for d-linemen but that's really it for football. You got grind to make it to the NFL
there are NBA players drafted every year cause they are 6'10 and can put their feet forward without tripping over themselves.
A guy drafted from my high school openly admits he hated basketball until he was in his 4th year in the nba. He was a freak athlete and 6'11. He told people it wasn't until the lifestyle was threaten to be taken away from him that he started to really grind, now he makes bank riding the bench as a vet cause he is a glue guy
