I’ll always remember what a freaking jerk he was when I met him. Hands down the rudest celebrity I’ve ever met. I hope her time with him is short, LOL!
‘Twas the summer of ‘96 just before the Olympics in Atlanta. I worked at a the Coca Cola Olympic City, which had interactive events featuring famous athletes. 99X broadcast remotely from there as well, so famous people were there very regularly. These folks typically came in for a tour when the park was closed so they could enjoy it before making their official appearance. The staff was there, and most of the celebrities were chill and were happy to chat briefly with us and snap a quick photo. Except for Buzz fricking Aldrin. He was there with his wife ( a different one, lol). Three or four of us passed by him and said hello, he gave just enough of a wave that one of us asked for a quick photo. He then lost his fricking mind and yelled at us, saying we were not to bother him and his wife during their alone time. His face was red, his wife looked embarrassed, and we were absolutely shocked. He said such awful things to us and it was really uncalled for. I think we were so surprised because literally every other guest has been cool with us.

I’ve worked a bunch in film an TV production and special meet and greets with celebs and it is bad form for event or production staff to ask for photos and autographs you’re supposed to be there and getting paid to work with and support the talent not be a fan.
