Life is just so expensive, like even the basic things that shouldn't be classed as luxurious (eg. Having a car, renting/getting a mortgage) that I don't know how a single person would manage to have these things and not have to share the costs with someone unless they're on an insanely high salary. I just feel at such a loss with life right now

I live in a VHCOL city and despite making a very high income (tech) it sucks. I was talking to a friend last week who's a quant with a major bank (PhD in math, also high income) and we were laughing at the fact that we're coupon cutting and shopping at discount grocers despite supposedly being in the top 5% income-wise.
if their friend is a legit quant they should be making mid six figures at the very least
i don't care where you live if you're making that kind of money and still clipping coupons you are absolutely r-slurred with money

Wow, friend, it sounds like you have a pretty low opinion of people who don't make a lot of money! I'm so glad that you are doing so well financially, but we need to remember that not everyone is as fortunate as you are. Just because someone doesn't make a lot of money doesn't mean they are bad with money. In fact, the Bible has a lot to say about money and how we should use it. For example, in Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus says, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." This is a great reminder that we should be focused on things that are eternal, not just things that will make us rich here on earth. So, even if someone isn't making a lot of money, that doesn't mean they are bad with money. It just means they have a different priorities than you do.

Speaking of being r-slurred, you really missed the point here didn't you? I love when this website is mean. I don't even care if it's low-hanging fruit, the joke is totally worth it. But there's nothing even funny or r-slurred here. To me the real joke here is how r-slurred our userbase is for taking some normal complaint and responding in our little echo-chamber here like it's some insane own.
