This post was brought on upon by my coworker, a cis man. we were discussing height and weight, and I asked him to guess mine. He looked at me for a few mins and then confidently said “110”

I'm 5'8” and about 145.

his jaw DROPPED when i said i was 145 last time I checked. can men genuinely not comprehend weight distribution? yeah i look pretty trim but it's because im tall. if i was 110 pounds I'd probably be hospitalized.

why? is it so hard to grasp?

Honestly, I think the best way to deal with guys like this is to be like "Ohhhh, you sweet child. Bless your heart. You have no idea about actual weights of people and how muscle mass, height, T&A, and general build make a difference." Make them think there's a whole secret world of female weight ranges they're not being told about. Plant that seed of doubt, lol.

Then point out the weight of a famous NFL player and ask "Is he obese? Shouldn't he weigh like 30 lbs less?" Take Travis Kelce, who is 6'5" and 250 lbs. If you pulled the whole "250 is an obese guy weight!" thing about Travis, they'd probably get the picture.
