Kind of similar thing happened to me. Went through a devastating breakup with a partner while travelling in a foreign country (got the UTI from the ex actually), partner left and I met a guy a few months later who seemed nice and interesting. I went to go visit him in a neighboring country where he lived only to realize he was cold and self serving. I also got ovarian cysts once i got there and had trouble getting out of bed due to the pain.
