Yeah basically, as a legal requirement.

I guess governments don't really care though, if he's raising someone else's baby and will never find out then it doesn't have any effect on society in general.

Oh they do care. A lot actually. That's why only the reverse is ever going to happen like in france. Otherwise, the absolute massive scale of foid cheating and men raising cuckold babies would tear society completely apart.

Well it's not that many, maybe 1-2% of children but still needless instability in your country from the perspective of a government.

Not instability. Economic factor. Last thing state wants is having to fork out money to rise those kids. They dont care if its cuck baby or not. All they care is someone is paying bills.

Well that's kind of what I mean. A bunch of children who are starving because of some butthurt moid is a destabilising factor.

if paternity tests after birth were mandatory, the amount of cuck babies would drop by 80%.

and if the govmt didn't shower single moms with money, the amount of single moms would drop by 80%.

and if SF didn't shower "people exploring homelessness" with money and their favorite drugs and did prosecute them when they commit crimes, the level of homelessness in SF would drop by 80%.

The "everything is due to socioeconomic or environmental factors" cope has the convenient side effect of preventing these people from acknowledging that incentives shape behavior.
