Seriously, they're all fat and ugly with tattoos. And they somehow delude themselves into thinking their ancestors would be proud of them and not utterly disgusted at the fat,tatted blob that has turned their backs on everything they believed. Also, at least 40-50% of them are "women".

Witches are supposed to be ugly though. Their witch ancestors (real) probably think "well she's a warty, haggard, harridan who dresses like a bag lady. A little hugely fat, but we can work with that. The girl just needs more theatrical flair."

Back then though witches were assumed to get all their powers from Satan. The modern trope,especially in anime and such is that of a studious nerd, that's basically who excels at magic,so being a super hot nerd is what these women aspire to,and think they are. (I don't believe in magic,and find neopagans cringe af, just explaining it)
