ARMHS or Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services is offered in many cities. When I worked in ARMHS, we connected people to services and helped them build skills. You sound like you would benefit. There's lots of programs to help people get back on their feet, especially if you're working. These places like to bet on people who are trying so having employment msked you a great candidate. Rent, utilities, food, bus cards, and everything you need is generally offered by these non profits, you just need to apply. Funding may be an issue but hopefully you dont live in a huge city, many residents mean limited funds in my experience. Salvation Army, St. Vincent De Paul, and Catholic Charities are examples of those kinds of organizations. I would reach out to your local county and ask for disability assessment or about GRH. Group residential housing is group homes, I worked in group homes as a behavior analyst too. It's not glorious and nobody wants to be in group homes. There's really nothing wrong eith it tho and it encompasses more situations than people think, like yours possibly. Having somewhere stable to land while you build skillsisn't a bad thing at all. There's rules and shared living spaces but with a good company, you can be really comfortable while you figure some things out. Ask the county or ARMHS worker about what companies offer GRH that they reccomend. I know the ones that take good care of their people in my area for example. Couple things and these are the most important if you're taking rhe time to read this. Number one is don't go to a homeless shelter. As a woman your chances of being r*ped(and I'm really sorry to tell you this) are like 90%. I'm 6ft and covered in tattoos and I used to volunteered to work the homeless shelters because most women(I'm the only male on my team a lot of the time) won't or don't want to. I almost exclusively worked in homelessness shelters, halfway houses, and people with violent histories. Even some men are r*ped in homeless shelters, don't go. Find a woman's shelter and even there, please, buy some mace. Predators are everywhere and that brings me to my last piece of advice. There's nothing wrong with s*x work. Two consenting adults can rub oil on each other and slither around their linoleum floor like giant snails for all I care. Both of those people consented though.
