Good evening, I hate white women.
Bethany Storro was a cute partially deaf mentally ill 28-year-old woman who apparently suffered from body dysmorphic disorder who in 2010 managed to spark a womanhunt after claiming an imaginary black woman threw a cup of acid in her face.
Per an original report:
She was just about to go into a Starbucks in Vancouver, Washington, when a "weird" young woman spoke to her and threw the liquid in her face. Miss Storro said: "It was the most painful thing ever.
"My heart stopped. It ripped through my clothing the instant it touched my shirt. I could feel it burning through my second layer of skin."
Miss Storro, who lost most of her hearing after suffering spinal meningitis as a child, laughed that if she had lost her sight as well it would have driven her parents "nuts", adding: "I'm just so glad, it's a miracle."
Police are still hunting the attacker, described as a black woman
between 25 and 35 with tied-back hair dressed in a green top and khaki pants.
She fled the scene on Monday night while passers-by watched in horror. Miss Storro said: "I have never, ever seen this girl in my entire life. When I first saw her, she had this weirdness about her – like jealousy, rage.
"Was it was a dare, or did the woman wake up Monday morning and tell herself that today, she was going to 'carry some acid in a cup and throw it on the first person I see?' "
Well as it turned out, there was no scary black woman acid attacker. The whole story started to fall apart due key factors like 1) in reality there are virtually no black people in oregon despite popular misconception due to Portland's reputation as the ultra-soy white guilt capital of the world, and 2) the nature of the acid injuries to her face turned out to make no sense and had no pattern of a hap hazard splashing of acid and more so appeared to be a uniform application to the prominent surfaces of her face while avoiding vital parts such as her eyeballs and lips.
Thus, after police wasted a considerable amount of resources and obtained credible alibies for all 6 of the black women in the portland metro area who fit the description of the attacker, they finally focused inward at Bethany Storro herself. It didn't take much before she admitted the obvious that she had smeared her own face with acid and made up the whole story.
Most notibly, she did so after she had received $20,000 in donations from the well meaning public to support her recovery which she spent on various items such as a chemical facial peel (lol), new clothes, train tickets, a computer.
She was eventually prosecuted for her actions for making a false statement to a public official and to her credit took ownership within the explanation that she was mentally ill and was given a slap on the wrist after pleading guilty to and was sentenced to community service and ordered to continue mental health treatment.
Prosecutors dropped theft charges stemming from donations she accepted that she couldn't pay back.
Earlier this year, Storro published a book about her experience, 'Facing the Truth,' which explains how body dysmorphic disorder drove her to harm herself.
Oh boy I bet this isn't just some cash grab that could have been a blog post, right??
