God, that message makes me a little bit sick. I'm not even against the idea of giving someone positive feedback about doing basic stuff, but the tone of that message is just absurd. It's so infantilizing, it sounds like it's coming from a kindergarten teacher who's so obviously phony that you can see through them even though you're 5 years old.

If you're depressed like that, it's natural that you would want some encouragement and acknowledgement of the effort you put in, but the thing is that you know that taking a shower doesn't deserve that sort of over the top fanfare. Plus you're still depressed so you probably don't even want to engage with that sort of extreme cheeriness
