Yeah she cheats on him cuz she was being pressured into marriage, didn't love him, and was clearly intending to leave him once Jack persuaded her that was an option (instead of suicide). As for why they didn't break up a lil earlier (although technically I think she does tell him to frick off before she and Jack have s*x), him flipping over her breakfast table in a fit of rage is probably part of it. He was not interested in accepting rejection nicely.
Throwing the necklace back was an homage to the dead passengers and FU to fortune hunters trying to rob their graves. Her whole point of telling the story was to try and get the crew to realize actual people had died and the site meant something.
As already pointed out, she and Cal never marry, she fakes her death and splits.
