Very amusing foid moment on the TL today.
My wife(F42)(Emily) and I(M42) have been together since freshman year, [...]
Last night when I arrived home from an exhausting shift, Emily sat me down and told me we had to talk, she proceeded to tell me how she's a lesbian, that she's known since college, and that she's gone with multiple dates with many women over our entire marriage.
She justified herself, saying that her family would've never accepted her and that she never actually cheated on me because she was being her true self with the women she slept with
It wasn't cheating because I've been lying to you for 20 years(?)
and to end it all she wanted us to have a lavender marriage so she cold be herself while her parents thought she was a straight woman
anyway can you continue to financially support me please 
otherwise I'd have to take accountability
I'm not happy for her, or proud or anything like that, if anything I feel pure rage towards her.

This happened to my two best friend's dads in middle school. Their moms eloped with each other and then both their dads lost their minds.

True story from a job I had way back. Woman comes out as lesbian, leaves husband, meets girlfriend (who also left her marriage to come out as lesbian). They move in together, all is happy happy joy joy. Then new neighbours move next door, married straight couple. Everyone gets on great together.
What happens next is that girlfriend and husband have affair and run off to Australia together, leaving his ex-wife and her ex-partner behind.
It's the kind of story I wouldn't believe if I read it on here, but it did really happen.

This happened to my grandpa, my grandma left him for another woman. It absolutely devastated my grandpa, he talked about unaliving himself. Then, the woman my grandma had left my grandpa for left my grandma and my grandma attempted unaliving through self-immolation in response. Everything's gravy now though. My grandpa met and fell in love with his second wife (who is superior to my grandma in every way ngl). They've been together for 30 years now. My grandma begs for money on the side of the road after gambling all her money away and losing her social security for the month. It all works out in the end

If they are equally your grandparent, how do you choose which one is the center? This could have as easily been framed as a story of someone being left behind, rather than leaving.
