I do find it rather interesting how in the burgeroid collective unconscious the concept of "weathering a period of unrest" becomes " EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF KILL OR BE KILLED BLOOD MURDER RACE WAR". Just a collective neurosis about distrusting everyone around you and secretly plotting their deaths just in case.
There's preppers on YT who never talk about helping their neighbors, but who endlessly talk about "raiders" and body armor. News flash: anarchy isn't coming, you won't be getting an opportunity to execute BIPOCs in cold blood.

For plenty information on what happens if there's no higher authority to enforce moral behavior, read up on some of the civil wars in the past 50 years in Africa. I don't think you understand how fricked up things can get.
Among 10000 random people, even in Germcuckistan, there are 100 psychos who in such a situation would take by force whatever they want, without consent, and some of them enjoy cruelty for its own sake. They would quickly form gangs because it's far more effective, and in the best case scenario within a few months the most effective of those gangs would become your new warlord government). The highest chance of surviving this unscathed is to make yourself an unattractive target. Maybe if you can hide very well, for a very long time, you won't need weapons.

Probably nothing at all with any level of seriousness, if were honest. If were being charitable, some period of uncertainty like a natural disaster. Non-perishable food and water will take them a long way. If this is the case, they're a lot better prepared than you are. In the impossible scenario that a violent collapse happens overnight, you'll be the first one dead.
