I don't condone victim blaming in cases where it is reprehensible. However, placing some responsibility on the victim is not always wrong in cases where they actively put themselves in harms way, as is shown here. You can't marry a convicted murderer, get murdered, and then have nobody comment on it. You also shouldn't jump in alligator infested waters for a swim, nor lay on train tracks for a nap.

What he did was awful. That doesn't remove the fact that marrying him and visiting him was a stupid idea. Not one deserving of death, but I definitely think it isn't super surprising.
