Just a post to get the hole moving a bit. I'm a bit drunk or maybe I'd post something more exciting. But here's an alt history Operation Market Garden style game. Buddy runs Finns so they are impossible to really work against any normal power for Bolt Action. But I was running Germans against Finns and brits I think.
The bridge in this picture is like $200 USD and is a sick kit. I ended up crushing them on this as defense in BA is way easier even with an extra bombardment from the Limeys.

Ayyy, this has got to be like the second time ever I see someone mention bolt action outside of the dedicated forums.
Used to run british paras myself, and god, I still am so stoked about how big a power spike getting them a single bren carrier to actually move the AT gun around was.

I always thought the brens looked kinda useless but hadn't considered using one to take an at around.
British paras were actually my first BA army back when they were metal. I didn't last long before expanding and getting other Brits, particularly a large BEF force. The paras were a bit too limited in AT, and heavier weaponry to deal with my friend who loves running shit like Churchill's.
I do have a bunch more paras to build now since I bought the Ham and Jam set.

Started out with the paras myself because bongs and their starter set was way cheaper than the other ones - back in my high-school days that was a limiting factor.
My games store mates would generally run the krauts and abuse the living heck out of tiger fear with their panzer IVs, so it was either outmanouver them so as to not see the tank at end of the turn, or get the just-heavy-enough-to-kill-them 6-pdr I had in range ASAP with the carriers.
Alternatively there was that one git who'd always bring out a panther, in which case it was a case of giving up half the map and winning on objectives in the other half with SMG squads, as after buying that beast they'd never have enough points for sufficient infantry cover to actually contest them with infantry of their own.
