Eh WoTC sucks but there is literally nothing wrong with imitating the style of an artist with others, especially in the context of a style guide.
This dude knows he has no legal ground to complain about a style guide being made based off his work so he's being disingenuous about the whole thing. If style guides were actually copyright infringement tons of artists would be fricked over and the general public would lose.
