The funny thing is that like all nerdy hobbies, since there's no quotas within the broad "marginalized genders" category, this sort of effort is essentially just an affirmative action program for mtfs, who are already overrepresented to begin with but now they get to claim spots budgeted for "women" generically. I haven't followed the details here but I'd imagine one of the two must be the case here:
More than 50% of these spots were going to mtfs
They were going to biofoid streamers selected for their popularity (ie. looks) rather than competitive skill
This sort of thing has always been and always will be a joke.
