So there's a MtG player named Joe Brennan, who decided to wear his MAGA hat to a tournament. Now, for those of you who don't know, MtG is a game that panders to the kind of people who think that orcs are a racist stereotype of black people and the term, “tribal” is offensive. Naturally, his decision was not received well, and inspired one of the funnier Twitter rants I've seen in a while, from a Magic tournament judge, no less. Some of the highlights include:

Having shared a space with him as both a player and a judge, I've never witnessed him behave in a confrontational way. That's what he's going for, of course. “I'm just a regular guy with different opinions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ you crazy leftists need to calm down”

“Yeah, he doesn't confront anyone, but he's just trying to make me look crazy!”

I've also gone out of my way to never have any direct interaction with him. Because I know nothing good will come of it. Doesn't do much good to get DQ'd or fired from event staff.

“If I interact with him, I will sperg out and get myself fired!”

I will say this: frick Joe Brennan, frick everything he stands for, and frick his little MAGA hat stunt. I firmly believe that if you willingly identify as a Republican in the current day, you cannot be a good person.

This once again proves a red hat is one of the most powerful tool to cause seethe even to this day

MAGA represents:

• letting immigrants rot in open air prison cells

• direct, targeted, hateful oppression of trans people

The comments under this rant are also quite unhinged. A number of people start a witch hunt for some well liked MtG player who invited Joe to a dinner with a bunch of people, because you know what they say about 40 people at a table with one nazi…

Also, someone makes an accusation that Joe was at January 6th, but this could also be someone making a joke.

As is often the case with angry posts, the problem is the last paragraph. Weighing the lives of civilians against each other is enough for a threadban, while weighing them against that of a specific RPGnet poster is one of the more awful kinds of personal attack.

However, the post you were responding to specifically made that comparison, so I can see the cause and effect. If someone makes a post like that, don't respond, report.

Well, that sounds like a very dark and violent scenario. I can try to make it even more extreme, but I must warn you that this may not be suitable for all audiences. If you are easily disturbed or offended by graphic descriptions of violence, torture, and cruelty, you may want to skip this. Here is one possible way to make the scenario more horrific:

The goblins and the bugbear are part of a small tribe that lives in a cave complex near a forest. They are usually peaceful and avoid conflict with other creatures, but they have a fierce rivalry with a nearby orc tribe that often raids their territory and steals their food and supplies. The orcs are stronger and more numerous, but the goblins are smarter and more cunning.

One day, the goblin leader, a clever and charismatic bugbear named Gruk, decides to launch a surprise attack on the orc camp, hoping to catch them off guard and deal a decisive blow. He gathers a group of his best warriors and scouts, and leads them through a secret tunnel that connects their cave to the forest. He plans to use the cover of the trees and the darkness of the night to sneak up on the orcs and strike them from behind.

However, things go much better than he expected. The orcs have no sentry posted at the edge of the forest, as they are too confident and careless. The orcs are also drunk and distracted, as they are celebrating a recent raid on a human village. The goblins loot and burn the orc camp, before retreating back to their cave with their spoils and their wounded. The orcs are left decimated and defeated, and never bother the goblins again.

But that is not the end of the story. The goblins are not satisfied with their victory. They want to make the orcs suffer for all the years of oppression and abuse they endured. They want to make them pay for every goblin life they took, every goblin home they destroyed, every goblin child they enslaved. They want to make them beg for mercy, and then deny them any.

The goblins take their orc prisoners to their cave, where they subject them to unspeakable horrors. They torture them with fire, acid, blades, and spikes. They mutilate them with saws, hammers, and pliers. They flay them alive, and feed them their own flesh. They mock them, humiliate them, and break their spirits. They force them to watch as they kill their fellow orcs, one by one, in the most gruesome ways possible. They make them wish they were dead, and then keep them alive for as long as they can.

The goblins do not stop until they have exhausted their sadistic creativity, and their orc prisoners are nothing but mangled corpses. They then pile up the orc bodies outside their cave, as a warning to any other orcs that may dare to cross them. They also carve a message on a large stone, in orcish, that reads:

“WE ARE GOBLINS. WE ARE NOT WEAK. WE ARE NOT COWARDS. WE ARE NOT SLAVES. WE ARE YOUR NIGHTMARE. WE ARE YOUR DOOM. WE ARE YOUR END.”

The goblins celebrate their victory and honor their fallen, and Gruk becomes a legend among his tribe.

Brokenshit modern yugioh sux donkey balls

I was again the demon. Which means killing me is the win condition for Good. I made the bold decision to kill myself 8 minutes into the game, which is an automatic loss, as good's win condition is to simply have the demon die

This did NOT end the game though because we had a minion called MASTERMIND

Who was also playing openly evil and kept contradicting himself. Still they didn't hang him. Or me again. Or the other, third openly evil person. Instead they hung @everyone who stupidly try to use his ability which resurrects a good player once per game on me and so they hung him instead.

We won on Day 2. There were no evil kills. Not a single one. The demon died 8 minutes into the game.
