I can't tell if I grew up to much for it or if pokemon dropped off hard after gen 5?

i tried x/y and looked at the other new games a bit on the internet but the 3d overworld never looks good.
not like they are trying either. its an animu game, the least it can do is have the fidelity of a ps3 game. where are you using all those poligons?
