The funniest thing about this is that Disco Elysium constantly makes fun of these strags that think communism will win by being whiny babies. It's a mix of 0 self awareness and no media literacy

The pivotal moment of the game is meeting an actual hardcore communist who kills people lol. The game clearly makes fun of people who believe hugging the working class woman is fighting for the working class

The game beats you over the head with the fact that a revolution would require the slaughter of millions of innocents, and all but calls you a naive idiot for pursuing Communism at all.

That said, it does feel like it's pulling punches when Capitalism isn't even a real ideology, Moralism/Centrism is a glowie-cult, and Fascism is represented by constant seething about wömen, (((bankers))), and foreigners.

Hard agree on the second part, for how much engagement there was with socialist ideas and characters in different scenarios, the other 'ideologies' felt so underdeveloped. There was no nuance in the critique, it was all very blunt and one sided.

Which is why I will always view it as pretentious

The Ultra-Liberal path where you become a HUSTLA BABY :marseycool2: was so short :marseygiveup: A shame since they had the funniest dialogue there. The fascist route was also good albeit lacking. The best moment with that was sitting down with the black supremacist and talking through your problems with women and al ghul while getting gym tips.
