Hexbear.net :marseytrain::marseyidio3: discuss "the chud equivalent to Disco Elysium"

https://hexbear.net/post/770355?scrollToComments=false

>Never played it but wasn't Kingdom Come: Deliverance sus and it's dev a reactionary goobergater?

>Don't think there is an equivalent to Disco Elysium really, but there are lots of games where what you do is claim other people's stuff for yourself, take it by force and kill everyone who stands in your way, which is the essence of chud ideology. Many games have "individual power over others" as their main appeal.

>when i first heard about it i was really excited for it because it was described by a few different sources as being inspired by darklands. when it came out and i read more about it I decided not to play it, it would be so sick to have a new darklands but chuds have claimed "historical accuracy" in the medieval era as their own and it sucks.

Is Kingdom Come Deliverance any good?

I played like 5 mins but never got into it

It starts out really good but the game systems are difficult as heck, they give you a combat "tutorial" twice and then once you have to fight your first real enemy you get rekt.

Attempting to lockpick in this game caused white knuckle rage.

It's a shame because I liked the story, setting, and characters, game definitely has soul but good luck getting good.

It's good if you are a bit neurodivergent but it's a slow burn.

Combat starts off awful (because you are a useless peasant) but gets better. You learn some fancy combo moves that'll make you a little wet if you pull them off.

Like others have said, the immersion is top tier. The forests feel woodsy, the bath house wenches are dumb whores, etc. Reading is what surprised me. You start off illiterate (again, useless peasant) and reading is a literal skill. The words are all jumbled nonesense and as you gain levels in reading, the letters start being properly placed.

Story is pretty good, you are a Bohemian frickstick thrown into the world of those above your station (non-poors). You start out as a small piece and become a key player and it feels natural.

Lockpicking and ranged combat suck horse peepee.

There is a priest you have a drunken orgy with in a belltower and have to give a sermon for him while you are still drunk the next morning based on a conversation you had like 20 gameplay minutes ago; a memorable gaming moment.

The only major con is that the Bohemian Church are a bunch of profligates.

I liked it a lot. I found I got a lot more immersed with the realism elements compared to something fantasy. Once you figure out how the systems work it is very easy though.

The lockpicking is bad. Idk about the rest

I've tried a few times to get in to it but the combat system just frustrates the shit out of me.

I got a decent way through it before I ran into a badly timed saved and got frustrated.

The time has come for the Necromaster. The unleashing of the fourth joker's card. The arrival of The Great Milenko
