yeah, there was a bit of a handicap, especially in the originals nuzlocking is a pretty hard challenge on ultra sun/ultra moon though, thats where ive found the replay-ability

USUM was a lot of fun for shiny hunting but they really turned off the replayability by adding an additional 5 hours of cutscenes to an already slow game.
I know I'm a boomer and already lost the battle here, but RBY and GSC were the best games by virtue of only 5 minutes of dialogue in the whole 4 hour games.

yeah, i really wish there was an option to turn them off. im pretty sure the gen 8 games did that but theyre so easy, i finished shield in like 8 hours at most.
