It was doomed by the fact they were founded as a 'collective' without any proper structure, and these sorts of arrangements always end with the team consuming itself.

Yeah it was really over when Robert Kurvitz got the axe, that's when I knew there were bad internal problems. But it wasn't the team self-destructing, the controlling shares of their funding got bought by some VC firm in 2021 that axed the leads because they started calling it a fraudulent purchase and trying to recover the IP from them.
