I'm not sure you can add this retroactively without ruining the game. Sure, tynans sense of "balance" is sometimes questionable and he uses a bunch of ridiculous workarounds that only works to keep the magic alife for clueless noobs, but increasing the number of dimensions is sure to break everything and make the game too easy unless you basically design everything again from the ground up.
Quick aside: The game used to have, maybe still has, an adaptive difficulty mechanic where you'd get harder enemies the longer you went without a pawn going down. When discovered, good players where pissed because optimal play now means to continually sacrifice pawns in a safe environment. Tynan denied this in the forums until someone dug up the lines of code where it was defined.
Both the neurodivergents and tynan got it wrong though. This mechanic allows you to optimize fun by being reckless with shitty pawns.
That said, the best experience experience is to be had by disabling this as well as adaptive difficulty based on wealth and just have enemies get stronger on a fast timer (that you can ideally speed up or slow down yourself) so you are not tempted to do r-slurred shit like wealth management that is advocated for everywhere.

this desu. I actually got all the other dlcs but this is just gay combat shit (protip: nobody has ever gotten into rimworld for its immersive rts-like combat). Dwarf Fortress mogs Rimworld, now and forever.
Honestly use GOG games . to for it since it'll have everything AND work with rimpy (popular mod manager), then update using cs rin files if they're there.

This is the only game where I never considered pirating due to both how good the game itself is and the amount of mods and basically DLC sized expansions are available on the workshop
I have no interest in that gay butt shit and play. With mods it's essentially Factorio + Prison Architect for me. Also the foids who you'd get are 300 lbs and play The Sims and Second Life
most edgy mods are janky bro call of cthulu shit just shoved spooky hentai tentacle monsters and events. This at least adds an scp containment angle incase you aren't scared of pixels on the screen, should lead to good mods

I never make it far in my run and lose interest. I either get fricked by raids, or my dudes don't work fast enough, or the furniture and shit they build is terrible quality and everything goes to heck. I want to love rimworld, I just can't.
Play on one of the easier ones. Don't worry about feeling bad at the game. I'll let you in on a secret - the only way to really "win" the harder difficulties is by cheesing the frick out of the AI (ie. killboxes, forcing enemies to run through massive trap mazes, forcing infestations to occur in a specific designated room lined with traps, etc.).
Yeah, it's just upsetting because the bar for DLCs was so high before.
Royalty and Ideology both add significant gameplay elements that are active throughout every game, without "overwhelming" the game so that everything is about them.
I never bought Biotech but it looked like a bit of a slide from the first two DLC, and this one looks even worse. Just more targeted and not really well integrated into the main game.
tbh I think I just need to bite the bullet and learn how to play DF properly.
Yeah I gotta check the patch notes but last I checked so much qol I can cut a good 50 mods doing shit. If only genes and kids were base game and not just with biotech dlc
Biotech isn't solely focused on gene stuff, it's basically a background thing and I never used or cared about it. The main thing from it is kids and genetics, so you can use aliens without a lot of mod workarounds or issues. Kids are more of a thing there though, not really impactful unless you're doing some generation playthrough or increase growth speed.
