Video games should've stayed like this. Minimal story, all fun gameplay. Now every other game is a walking simulator with 30 hours of cinematic cutscenes and 30 minutes of combat.

I try to appreciate games w minimal lore and good gameplay. Then make fun of friends for still trying to find and watch "lore videos"
on them.

I dread the first 45 minutes to an hour of most games now. Even the good ones take so much work to get going.

That's why I don't even play modern games. If you need a TV show or movie lenght cutscene or tutorial to start the game or understand the lore, it isn't worth playing.
