Why so much drama because of a Kang samurai? Is not like Assassins Creed is some beacon of historical accuracy and at least there's the possibility the 16th century Kang in Japan was a Samurai, which is more accurate than their cartoonish albeit fun portrayal of the Borgias. The ancient Egypt and ancient Greece settings are very well researched though.

It's mainly being done by Japanese g*mers (Japonica chuds are already some of the most depressed inkwells on earth) whose main point of grievance seems to be "my culture is being corrupted by westerners who don't know the history behind it"...I think Japan's case is very interesting because normally they are very pro to at the worst, meh to mayos retelling some of their stories...
Even 47 Ronin from just a decade ago
was seen as frick ugly by japan bros but they just gave it a negative review, told others to not watch it and forgot about it.
But over the last few years they have learnt and mastered the ways of the western chuds on how to seethe against corpos and cancel culture etc. Finally their time has arrived to step into the chud-light and let off some of that pent up seethe (instead of releasing some semen into their women and having kids as their great sensei Abe wanted).

, I remember a lot of people wanting an AC game set in Japan for like a decade now. When it's finally coming out, the main character they parade around being black just feels like they're taking the piss 
It's the same with open world racing games like Forza, or NFS - people are crying for one set in Japan for a looong time, if they finally made one but only included US made cars, people would mald.
