Get with one of the Age of Empires, I've put thousands of hours into that series over the years.
2 if you want something timeless and less expensive, 4 if you want something more modern looking and feeling. Or just get Gamepass where all the AoEs are, including like 300 other games or whatever it is. Still a good deal even with the recent price bump.

They keep releasing new story episodes and they got a ton of donations + multiplatform sales, usual 10yrs to release the full game thing. But it got in its current fully playable state about 3yrs ago.
The last episode is coming out this yr and then they might stop developing it, there was Muh abused devs reddit drama. But who cares 4 months playing the game addictively was good enough for me then I move on
